GARMIN Edge | Portugal

This shoot took months of preparation to bring together with Garmin. The brand wanted to highlight the new Edge cycling computers on one of the most dynamic landscapes in Europe. The location we landed on was Madeira, Portugal, an island that feels built for mountain biking with steep coastal trails, rugged forests, and endless terrain.

The objective was ambitious. In just two days of shooting we set out to cover four disciplines of mountain biking: cross country, downhill, enduro, and trail. Garmin brought a tight team to the island and partnered with Always Outdoor TV (on the production side who nailed it!) and Freeride Madeira to provide local knowledge and incredible riders. Their talent and guidance kept the production flowing and ensured every setting felt authentic to the sport.

Getting there was a marathon. More than forty hours of airports and flights made it the longest travel stretch I have taken on for a project. But once on the ground the island delivered. The trails, the light, and the people made every image worth the effort.

At the end of the two days we walked away with a body of still photography that shows the Edge product in its element: tracking, guiding, and inspiring rides across every style of mountain biking. Garmin set the vision and the results reflect the energy that comes from a global team working together in the right place at the right time.

Below is just a small portion of images and screen grabs that we captured, what an amazing place. It still feels like a dream.
