PATAGONIA | 2025 Spring Catalog

One thing that other outdoor companies have tried to replicate over and over again is the beloved Patagonia Catalog. Patagonia has always been the leader in this world, it's because they have stories. Real life stories from real athletes. This image made it in with words by climbing ambassador Timmy O'Neil. I honestly forgot about this image, I photographed it over a decade ago on a climbing trip on the Incredible Hulk in the high Sierras. Great to see it as the opener. Cedar & Sea | Columbia River Maritime Museum

Two years in the making with this in depth project, it was one of the cooler opportunities that I got to take a part in. The Cedar & Sea exhibit just launched at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria - the town where they filmed ‘The Goonies’. The exhibit covers the relationship between cedar and the Pacific Northwest Coastal Indigenous People. I was commissioned to photograph four separate rooms where I had to make huge panoramic photos. The main room with the ocean landscape photo ended up printing 120 feet by 10 feet tall. Huge! My images are just a small part of the display and there’s amazing wood work in there including a handcrafted cedar boat along with the tools of survival. The entrance to the display. SLUSH Magazine | Photo Annual

Fun to see images that are still going to print. This one made it into the 2025 Photo Annual of Slush Magazine . When the photo editor asked me to do a write up about it I came up with a complete blank but I channeled my thoughts to create this. SETTINGS: "There was a time in my youth when I was at a bookstore flipping through a magazine, and two strangers next to me picked up a snowboard magazine. They scoffed and said, "Professional snowboarder?! That's like saying professional sledder." For some reason, that comment stuck with me. They were right in a way. What we do is essentially sledding upright on a board. It is silly kid stuff and that is exactly the point. We are part of this cult/ club of upright sledders, and it has the power to change your life for the better and sometimes for the worse.
