1859 Oregon's Magazine | Vol. 84

One of my favorite things to do is to go camping with other creative people, without any plans, for several days and see what we come up with. That was this trip in a nutshell with Cam McCaul. Cam and I were just talking shop about life when we saw the moon rising up and hitting the mountains. Next thing you know, it's on the cover of 1859 Magazine . Pretty happy with how it turned out.

PROVING GROUNDS PACIFIC CITY 2023 - NATURAL SELECTION

Proving Grounds put on by H5 Events keeps evolving, this year it was hosted by Carson Storch on the Oregon Coast. Carson and I have been friends and for a long time and one thing that I noticed about him is when he gets an idea he completely follows through with it, front to back. He's a workhorse. I was fortunate enough to be the still photographer for this event where there was some amazing biking. I shot alongside some incredible videographers, directors and editors as well. Western Rivers Conservancy | Bear River, Willapa Bay & the Yakima

Western Rivers Conservancy has been putting me on rivers to photograph for years now. Some rivers that they send me out on are well known and others are obscure and somewhat difficult to get into, the Bear River is one of those. The Bear River is a tributary of the Chehalis River, which eventually flows into Grays Harbor on the coast of Washington. The river and its ecology have been significantly impacted by human activities over time. The logging and farming practices in the area resulted in increased sedimentation and nutrient runoff, leading to degraded water quality and harm to the river's fish populations. Today, there are various efforts underway to restore the ecological health of the Bear River and that’s where Western Rivers Conservancy steps into basically bring a portion of the land back to a healthier state.
