A tribute piece on the late Dean Potter found in July issue of Men’s Journal.
I didn’t know Dean well, I think there are only a handful of people that truly did know him. From the short time that I hung out with Dean I found him to be relaxed, cool, calm, and calculated. This image was shot with an old Polaroid of Dean in 2012 at Smith Rock in Oregon. At the time he insisted that his dog Whisper be in the shot, when the camera was pulled up his dog posed like a she was on a senior portrait shoot. Out of the multiple shots taken that day this image stood out to me because of Dean’s genuine smile and look of contentment. |
